Position Title: Senior Manager, Pain Center of Excellence – Diagnostic & Procedural Operations
Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Pain Center of Excellence – Diagnostic & Procedural Operations is responsible for overseeing operational performance across multiple Pain Management, Neurology, Orthopedic, and Sports Medicine locations. This position provides leadership for high-volume diagnostic and procedural service lines, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional patient experience, and efficient utilization of clinical resources.
The Senior Manager partners closely with physicians, executive leadership, and operational teams to optimize provider productivity, maximize procedural capacity, improve patient access, and drive organizational growth. This role serves as the operational leader for all diagnostic and procedural programs, including Interventional Pain procedures, EMG, EEG, Wireless EEG, and fluoroscopy (C-Arm) operations.
Operational Leadership
Provide operational leadership across multiple Pain Management, Neurology, Orthopedic, and Sports Medicine locations.
Direct and support supervisors, technologists, medical assistants, and front-end staff across multiple sites.
Standardize workflows and operational processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Partner with physicians and leadership to improve patient access, provider utilization, and clinic capacity.
Diagnostic & Procedural Operations
Provide oversight for all diagnostic and procedural programs, including:
Three C-Arm Interventional Pain procedural suites
Electromyography (EMG)
Electroencephalography (EEG)
Wireless Ambulatory EEG
Emerging diagnostic and procedural service lines
Ensure optimal scheduling, staffing, equipment utilization, room utilization, and patient throughput while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
KPI & Performance Management
Own operational performance metrics including:
C-Arm utilization and procedural volume
Provider productivity
EMG order-to-completion rates
EEG completion rates
Wireless EEG growth and utilization
Referral conversion metrics
Patient access and wait times
Schedule optimization
Room utilization
No-show reduction initiatives
Revenue-generating procedural opportunities
Clinical productivity dashboards
Utilize operational reports and data analytics to identify trends, implement action plans, and monitor organizational performance.
Growth & Service Line Development
Develop strategies to expand procedural and diagnostic service lines.
Collaborate with referring providers to increase diagnostic utilization.
Identify opportunities to improve referral pathways and increase procedural volumes.
Assist with implementation of new technologies and diagnostic programs.
Support strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and patient access.
Staff Leadership
Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of operational and clinical support staff.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to supervisors and frontline employees.
Conduct performance evaluations and partner with Human Resources on employee relations matters.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
Monitor operational readiness, supply management, and equipment utilization across all sites.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and operational change management projects.
Promote a patient-centered culture focused on service excellence.
Financial & Operational Stewardship
Monitor departmental productivity, operational expenses, and resource utilization.
Participate in annual budget planning and capital equipment forecasting.
Develop operational dashboards and executive reports for leadership review.
Identify operational efficiencies that improve financial performance while maintaining quality of care.
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration Preferred, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive healthcare operations experience.
Experience managing multi-site ambulatory operations preferred.
Strong knowledge of procedural and diagnostic service lines, including Pain Management, Neurology, Orthopedics, or Sports Medicine.
Demonstrated experience leading operational performance through KPI management and data analytics.
Experience with physician practice operations, scheduling optimization, and staff leadership.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
