Job Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterology Physician (MD/DO) to provide comprehensive GI care to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The physician will evaluate and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions while collaborating with Advanced Practice Providers and facility staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site gastroenterology consultations for SNF/LTC residents

• Diagnose and manage GI conditions including GERD, GI bleeding, liver disease, constipation, dysphagia, and IBD

• Order, interpret, and act upon labs, imaging, stool studies, and diagnostic tests

• Perform GI-related procedures within scope of training, as indicated

• Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and interdisciplinary teams

• Optimize medications, nutrition plans, and bowel regimens

• Ensure accurate, regulatory-compliant EMR documentation

• Support quality improvement and hospital readmission reduction initiatives

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

• Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency

• Fellowship training in Gastroenterology preferred

• Active and unrestricted New York State medical license

• DEA registration

• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology

• Experience in SNF/LTC or post-acute care preferred
