Title: eClinicalWorks (eCW) System Analyst
Position Overview: The eClinicalWorks (eCW) System Analyst manages healthcare technology projects, ensuring they support organizational goals, comply with regulations, and are delivered on schedule. This role implements, optimizes, and supports the eCW EHR system while collaborating with clinical, operational, and revenue cycle teams to improve workflows and maintain compliance.
System Configuration & Optimization:
• Configure, build, and maintain eClinicalWorks (eCW) modules including ambulatory workflows, order sets, templates, smart forms, and clinical documentation tools.
• Optimize workflows to enhance provider efficiency, increase patient throughput, and improve documentation quality.
Implementation & Upgrades:
• Lead and support eCW implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Coordinate with stakeholders for requirements gathering, testing, and go-live support.
• Manage system changes using structured change management processes.
• Collaborate with providers, clinical leadership, revenue cycle teams, and IT infrastructure and integration teams.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and clinical users.
User Support & Training
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for eCW-related issues.
• Troubleshoot system, interface, and workflow issues.
Integration & Interoperability
• Support integrations with labs, radiology, pharmacies, and third-party systems such as telehealth, billing, and patient engagement tools.
• Work with APIs, HL7 interfaces, and data exchange processes.
Data & Reporting
• Develop and maintain reports using eCW reporting tools.
• Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Support quality reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational analytics.
Collaboration
• Work closely with providers, clinical leadership, revenue cycle teams, and IT infrastructure and integration teams.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and clinical users.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare IT, Information Systems, or related field : Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, ensuring a solid foundation in healthcare information technology or information systems.
• 3–5+ years of experience supporting eClinicalWorks (eCW) : Applicants should have at least three to five years of hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks, demonstrating proficiency in supporting, troubleshooting, and optimizing the system.
• Strong understanding of:
• Clinical workflows: A comprehensive knowledge of clinical workflows is required, enabling efficient support and optimization of healthcare operations within the eCW environment.
• Ambulatory EHR systems: Candidates must be familiar with ambulatory electronic health record systems, ensuring effective management and support in outpatient settings.
Preferred Qualifications
• eClinicalWorks certification (preferred) : Certification in eClinicalWorks is desirable, showcasing formal recognition of expertise with the platform.
Experience with:
• HL7 interfaces / API integrations: Experience working with HL7 interfaces or API integrations is preferred, supporting interoperability and data exchange across healthcare systems.
• Revenue cycle workflows: Familiarity with revenue cycle workflows is advantageous, enabling effective support for billing and financial operations within the healthcare environment.
• Telehealth and patient engagement tools : Experience with telehealth solutions and patient engagement tools is preferred, contributing to enhanced patient care and connectivity.
• Knowledge of regulatory programs (MIPS, HEDIS, etc.) : Understanding regulatory programs such as MIPS and HEDIS is preferred, supporting compliance and quality reporting requirements.
Additional Skills and Experience
• Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships: Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams as well as manage vendor interactions effectively.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills: Strong skills in managing multiple priorities, addressing challenges, and maintaining organized workflows.
• Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana) and documentation tools (Confluence, Visio): Skilled in using modern technology platforms for project tracking and documentation.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for clinical, technical, and executive audiences: Capable of adapting communication style to effectively engage and inform various stakeholders.
Educational Requirements
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Information Technology, Business Management, or related field.
• PMP, CSM, or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience with healthcare data analytics and reporting.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project methodologies.
