This role ensures that facilities operations are aligned with organizational growth, clinical strategy, financial performance, and regulatory standards.

The SVP operates at a strategic and governance level, setting direction, establishing standards, and driving operational excellence across the portfolio — while the VP of Facilities owns execution, maintenance, and day-to-day facility management.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy & Governance

  • Serve as executive owner for facility performance, readiness, and scalability across current and future sites
  • Partner with the COO and executive leadership on multi-year facility roadmaps and operational priorities

Operational Oversight (Not Execution)

  • Provide executive oversight of facility operations without managing day-to-day maintenance, repairs, or site-level issues
  • Hold the VP of Facilities and regional leaders accountable to performance targets, compliance metrics, and service standards
  • Review and act on portfolio-level operational data, trends, risks, and capacity planning
  • Escalate and resolve systemic operational challenges impacting patient care or business continuity

Financial & Capital Leadership

  • Own facility operations budgeting at the enterprise level, including operating expense targets and capital allocation strategy
  • Partner with Finance on cost optimization, ROI analysis, and long-term capital planning
  • Oversee financial governance related to leases, renovations, expansions, and facility investments (execution managed by VP of Facilities)

Compliance, Risk & Readiness

  • Provide executive oversight for regulatory readiness, accreditation support, and risk mitigation related to facility operations
  • Ensure facilities support compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements in partnership with Compliance and Legal
  • Lead enterprise response planning for facility-related risk, emergencies, and business continuity

Growth, Expansion & Integration

  • Serve as executive sponsor for new site openings, acquisitions, and integrations, ensuring operational readiness at scale
  • Partner with Clinical, IT, Revenue Cycle, and Compliance leadership to ensure facilities enable high-quality care delivery
  • Drive post-acquisition operational alignment and standardization across the facility portfolio

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a senior executive liaison between Facilities, Operations, Clinical Leadership, and Corporate Services
  • Provide mentorship and strategic direction to senior facility and operations leaders
  • Represent Facility Operations at executive, board, and investor-level discussions as needed
