Job Summary

Job Title: Program Coordinator, Community Health & Research (Remote) 

 

Reports to: Senior Director, Talent Acquisition 

 

Location: Remote (with occasional on-site attendance for meetings at Halperin) 

 

Position Summary: This role is designed for a detail-oriented and mission-driven Program Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of our Community Health and Research Volunteer Programs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about public health, education, and supporting International Medical Graduates (IMGs) as they gain U.S.-based clinical and volunteer experience. 

The Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring qualified International Medical Graduates (IMGs) are successfully placed in community and clinical-based experiences to support their medical career journey 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

Social Media & Outreach 

  • Develop and schedule social media content multiple times a week (primarily via Instagram) to promote program opportunities and attract volunteer applicants 
  • Manage online applications ensuring smooth communication and follow-up with candidates and promote visibility. 
  • Connect with the current volunteers, build relationships and advocate for company postings 

Applicant screening and Onboarding 

  • Set and track volunteer recruitment goals (e.g., 25-30 volunteers for community health programs monthly). 
  • Manage the volunteer intake process, including: 
  • Posting application forms online. 
  • Directing applicants to submit CVs via Dropbox. 
  • Screening applicants based on eligibility (especially IMG status). 
  • Sending out video interview prompts (under 10 questions) to assess candidates. 
  • Sending out formal offer letters and issuing acceptance communications with start dates via iCIMS. 

Program Coordination 

  • Oversee both the Community Health and Research Volunteer Programs: 
  • Community Health Program: Accept eligible IMG applicants on a rolling basis (minimum 8-week commitment); assign to local public health initiatives such as health screenings and community events. 
  • Research Program: Onboard two research volunteers every two months. Coordinate limited clinical shadowing placements in Cardiology (pending department availability). 
  • Ensure volunteers understand the non-paid, experience-based nature of the program and what is expected of them. 

Stakeholder & Department Coordination 

  • Communicate with departments (e.g., Cardiology) for shadowing placement, escalating issues when responsiveness is lacking. 
  • Address visa-related and program fee concerns from international candidates (e.g. program fee, J-1/tourist visa denials). 

Volunteer Experience & Post-Program Support 

  • Act as the main point of contact for the volunteer throughout the recruitment process, then transition them to the Operations team once they begin. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • College degree in related field  
  • Knowledge of IMG pathways, visa considerations, and U.S. medical education system is a plus. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills. 
  • Proficient in managing digital platforms (e.g., Instagram, Dropbox, email). 
  • Experience working with international candidates or in academic/clinical settings preferred. 
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment. 
  • Has a strong social media influence in the IMG communities 

Work Environment: 

  • Remote, full-time position (Monday–Friday). 
  • Occasional in-office attendance required for larger meetings (Halperin site). 
  • Must be able to manage workflows independently and communicate effectively across departments.
