Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Addiction Medicine Provider to join our OASAS-certified outpatient treatment program. The ideal candidate will provide patient-centered, evidence-based care for individuals with substance use disorders, ensuring compliance with OASAS regulations and organizational policies.  

This role involves direct patient care, medication management (including Naltrexone, Suboxone, and other MAT options), interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting recovery-oriented treatment. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including addiction-focused evaluations and ongoing follow-ups. 
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in accordance with OASAS guidelines. 
  • Monitor patients for withdrawal symptoms, side effects, and medication adherence. 
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with behavioral health and counseling staff. 
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) per OASAS and facility standards. 
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including counselors, social workers, nurses, and peer advocates. 
  • Provide patient education on substance use disorders, relapse prevention, and harm reduction strategies. 
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and OASAS regulations, including all reporting requirements. 
  • Participate in case conferences, quality assurance activities, and staff training. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of addiction medicine best practices, emerging treatments, and regulatory updates. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, agencies, and community resources to promote clinic services and generate patient referrals 

Qualifications

  1. MD or DO with active New York State license. 
  1. Board Certified/Eligible in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine preferred. 
  1. Minimum 2-4 years of experience in addiction medicine or related clinical setting preferred. 
  1. Knowledge of OASAS regulations and familiarity with NYS substance use treatment systems. 
  1. Strong communication, clinical assessment, and crisis intervention skills. 
  1. Commitment to patient-centered, stigma-free care. 

Work Environment 

Setting: Outpatient OASAS-certified clinic. 

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm  

May require occasional travel between program sites or to trainings.
