Department: Outpatient Services – Cardiology

Job summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support the operations and clinical initiatives of our Cardiology Division within outpatient care. This role will be based in The Bronx and will work closely with clinical leaders, administrative teams, and external stakeholders to ensure efficient coordination and execution of cardiology-related projects, programs, and services.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and multitasker with a background in healthcare operations or project support, and a passion for improving patient care and service delivery.
Coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables for outpatient cardiology initiatives (e.g., patient access improvements, workflow redesigns, equipment upgrades).
Track progress of ongoing projects and communicate status updates to leadership.
Assist in developing reports, presentations, and dashboards for departmental planning and analysis.
Partner with scheduling, billing, and clinical teams to support day-to-day operations within cardiology clinics.
Identify and escalate process issues, delays, or patient care barriers that require leadership intervention.
Support provider onboarding within the cardiology division (e.g., credentialing coordination, orientation tracking, clinic readiness).
Maintain accurate project documentation and assist in compiling metrics related to patient volumes, outcomes, provider performance, and access benchmarks.
Support quality improvement efforts through data collection and basic analysis.
Act as a liaison between the cardiology division and other departments such as IT, compliance, facilities, and finance.
Coordinate meetings, take minutes, and ensure follow-up on action items.
Support patient engagement initiatives, including outreach for follow-up appointments, diagnostics, and care coordination efforts.
Help implement patient education tools and ensure cardiology materials are up-to-date and accessible.
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, public health, or a related field
1–3 years of experience in healthcare project coordination, clinical administration, or operational support (experience in cardiology or outpatient care is a plus)
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks) preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
Comfortable working with both clinical and administrative stakeholders
Experience in cardiology or other specialty outpatient settings
Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, scheduling systems, or referral workflows
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
