Job Summary

Position title: Vice President of Nursing Home 

 

Job Summary: The Vice President of Nursing Home is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of a network of nursing homes or long-term care facilities. This executive role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, operational efficiency, financial stability, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Vice President of Nursing Home will play a crucial role in ensuring that the facilities provide excellent care while maintaining operational efficiency and financial health. 

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: 

  • Oversee daily operations of multiple nursing homes or care facilities across NYC and Poughkeepsie 
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care. 
  • Monitor facility performance and make necessary adjustments to improve operations. 

Strategic Planning and Execution: 

  • Develop and execute long-term strategies to enhance care quality and operational efficiency. 
  • Identify growth opportunities and lead initiatives for facility expansion or service enhancement. 
  • Collaborate with other Medical Executives to align nursing home operations with the organizational goals. 

Financial Management: 

  • Prepare and manage budgets for each facility and the overall network. 
  • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability. 
  • Implement cost-control measures and optimize resource allocation. 

Regulatory Compliance: 

  • Ensure all facilities comply with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and industry best practices. 
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary policy updates. 
  • Prepare for and manage audits and inspections. 

Quality Improvement: 

  • Develop and oversee quality assurance programs to enhance resident care and satisfaction. 
  • Analyze performance metrics and resident feedback to identify areas for improvement. 
  • Implement best practices and innovations in long-term care. 

Staff Leadership and Development: 

  • Provide leadership and support to facility management teams. 
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development opportunities. 

Community and Stakeholder Relations: 

  • Act as the primary liaison with residents, families, community leaders, and other stakeholders. 
  • Address concerns and feedback from residents and families in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Represent the organization in community events, industry conferences, and other relevant forums. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 
  • Proven experience in senior management roles within the long-term care or healthcare industry. 
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, quality assurance, and operational management in nursing homes. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial performance. 
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives effectively. 
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
