Responsible for the smooth function of patient flow and all aspects of patient care by performing the following duties.
Greets and registers patients.
Fulfills clerical responsibilities, including insurance eligibility, obtain diagnostic reports, patient
demographics, ensures all incoming/outgoing referrals are booked and addressed accordingly
Answers phones, responds to inquiries and triage calls to appropriate personnel.
Checks on all incoming faxes and distributes accordingly.
Makes courtesy calls and appointment confirmations for office/Urgent Care patients. Reschedule no show appointments.
Inputs patient data into EMR system.
Fulfills patient care responsibilities, including taking vital signs, updating patient HX, collecting blood, urine, and stool specimens, and assisting providers/nurses in the exam room.
Monitors and ensures clinical and clerical equipment is functioning properly and escalates issues to supervisor.
Responsible for learning use of all current and future equipment’s used for patient assessment and diagnosing.
Checks date on materials and medications for expiration dates and discards expired items.
Complete weekly and monthly inventory for all supplies, medical and office.
Ensures labs are transmitted accurately and received in a timely manner.
Monitor temperature of refrigerator for all vaccines, VFC and private purchases.
All staff are expected to remain up to date with New Providers, Specialist joining or leaving the practice
and remain compliant and informed of any and all Policies and Procedures
Must attend monthly Staff Symposiums
Collects copays and deductibles accordingly and documents accurately.
Ensures closing of all daily copays at the end of the day.
Submits daily billing.
Maintains a sterile work environment.
Ensures standard infection control precautions are observed.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or less than one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three months experience in clinical setting
One year education in medical field
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and internet software Specialized Training:

HIPAA
OSHA
MA Certificate
CLIA Training
