Staffed by over 300 primary and specialty care physicians and advanced clinicians, Essen Health Care is one of the largest, most comprehensive private medical groups in New York City. Essen maintains a Clinical Information Services team that maintains our enterprise-wide electronic medical record system, data repository, clinical analytics and population health capabilities. Our Community Services teams creates and sustains relationship with community organizations and agencies and health plans.

Job Summary

Job Title: Senior Vice President of Product

 

Job summary: Essen Health Care is in the process of developing its own population health and practice management solution. We are seeking a cross-functional leader to serve as a crucial liaison, facilitating robust communication between our technology, clinical teams, and operations. The Chief Product Officer (CPO) will need a comprehensive understanding of both business and technical processes to steer strategic product direction effectively. This role involves building out the product team to integrate business requirements across various Lines of Business (LOBs), coordinating priorities with business and clinical teams as well as LOB stakeholders. The CPO will also work closely with our remote product and development teams in India, overseeing the delivery of these capabilities and fostering adoption within the organization. This internal implementation will serve as a "sandbox," allowing us to refine the product before its successful external release and marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Understand key business objectives and strategy of the product, and support the Product team in meeting business objectives.
  • Support various engineering and project management functions by acting as a liaison between business, product, and development teams to help reduce redundant efforts, increase reuse of existing components, and identify opportunities during design to ensure components are built in such a way as to support external marketability.
  • Build-out the product team that will meet the organization’s needs and tie the vision to the organizational goals while overseeing strategy and execution
  • Communicate product strategy to executive stakeholders through a product roadmap while keeping track of all product metrics/ KPIs so that you can make informed product decisions throughout the product lifecycle; ensure strategic alignment with the greater product vision
  • Collaborate on prioritizing all capabilities and features to ensure work focuses on those with maximum business value that align with product strategy.
  • Define Minimum Viable Product features needed for new capabilities and draw on an agile mindset: implement the minimal thing that possibly works, and rapidly iterate and evolve it based on user and end users’ feedback.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Write use cases and acceptance criteria for emerging capabilities and features - including detailed functional & nonfunctional requirements for the engineering and development teams.
  • Engage with the product owner to understand the context and synthesize the organization's needs and value stories that drive the features and user story priority.
  • Participate in systems requirements definition, testing, training, implementation, and product rollout.
  • Contribute to outbound product marketing and collateral development, including feature and product capability descriptions, technical specifications and “glossy brochures”, technical user and business value stories, client case studies, FAQs, etc.
  • Track features and user utilization for individual products or apps.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product management/product excellence, analytics, reporting, product ownership, and business analysis within a large organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare
  • Advanced degree in IT, product management, marketing, psychology or other related fields.
  • Ability to analyze data sets and interpret them enough to create data-driven strategies
  • Experience managing product roadmap and ensuring strategic alignment with the greater product vision.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Experience using ECW highly preferred
  • Understanding of Business Intelligence, business analytics, data warehousing, data acquisition, big data engineering or analytics, or some combination of data and technical platforms.

This position offers the flexibility of working two days remote!

 

Salary: 200,000-250,000 annually
