Job Summary

Position title: Healthcare IT Business Analyst

 

Job summary: We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Business Analyst (BA) with a strong background in healthcare operations and technology to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between clinical, operational, and technical teams—translating business needs into actionable requirements, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the implementation of technology solutions that enhance patient care and organizational efficiency. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (clinical, operational, and IT teams) to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for healthcare technology initiatives.
  • Map current workflows, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements aligned with best practices and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for EHR/EMR, practice management systems, and other healthcare applications.
  • Partner with project managers, developers, and QA teams to ensure solutions meet requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement in patient care delivery and administrative operations.
  • Support system configuration, integration testing, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and postimplementation validation.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions for end-users and stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, requirement traceability, and change control logs.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues, escalating as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience support enterprise application in a healthcare environment.
  • Proficient with the full Microsoft Office 365 Suite of applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication skills when interacting with all levels of the organization.

 

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus)
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, project coordination, or a related role
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment

Soft skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Team player who can also work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exposure to Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies.

Salary: $85,000-$95,000
